Privacy Policy

Information we collect

We collect account details such as name, email, username, password credentials in hashed form, profile content, posts, messages, media, social connections, reports, and your settings. We also process security and usage data such as session identifiers, IP address, device and browser details, and event logs.

How we use information

We use information to provide the service, honor audience controls, deliver messages and email, prevent abuse, moderate content, troubleshoot, measure reliability, comply with law, and protect members.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Content is shared with the audience you select. Service providers may process limited data under contract for hosting, email, storage, security, and operations. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to prevent harm.

Retention and security

We retain data while your account is active and as needed for security, disputes, backups, and legal duties. We use access controls, encryption in transit, restricted database roles, validated backups, and audit records, but no system is perfectly secure.

Your choices and rights

You may update profile details and privacy settings. Account export, correction, deletion, and applicable privacy-right requests may be sent to privacy@chatkc.com while self-service controls are completed. We will verify requests before acting.

Children

ChatKC is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact privacy@chatkc.com if you believe a child under 13 has created an account.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be announced in the service. Privacy questions may be sent to privacy@chatkc.com. This draft requires counsel review before general public launch.
