Safety Center
Choose the path that matches what is happening. ChatKC’s support and safety tools are available on the web and in the Android app; additional platforms are in review.
Need account or product help?

Your ticket keeps updates organized and sends progress through ChatKC alerts.
Need to report abuse?
Use the Safety control on the member profile or content, or email safety@chatkc.com.
Blocking immediately removes the friendship and closes direct-message access in both directions.
Immediate danger and crisis support
ChatKC is not an emergency service and cannot dispatch help. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In the United States, call 911. For suicide or mental-health crisis support, call 988 or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Outside the United States, use your local emergency or crisis service.
Report and block
Reports should identify the content, member, or interaction and briefly explain the concern. Separate, clearly labeled controls let you report content or a person and block a person. Do not continue engaging with someone who is threatening or harassing you. Review the standards in our Community Guidelines.
Child safety and sexual exploitation
Never forward suspected child sexual abuse material or intimate imagery to document it. Use the report control and contact safety@chatkc.com with the profile or content link. If a child is in immediate danger, contact emergency services. ChatKC may preserve and report apparent illegal material to the appropriate authorities.
Preserving evidence
Reports preserve a checksum-protected evidence record for trained moderators. Save relevant dates, usernames, URLs, and non-harmful context, but do not redistribute harmful material. Reports are handled as privately as practical; information may still be shared with reviewers, service providers, or authorities when necessary to investigate or protect people.
Scams, impersonation, and suspicious links
Be cautious when someone creates urgency, asks for money or verification codes, moves a conversation off-platform, or claims to be ChatKC staff. Do not open unexpected files or enter your password after following a message link. Report the account and change your password if you disclosed credentials.
Account security
Use a unique password, verify your email, enable two-factor authentication, review active sessions, and sign out on shared devices. ChatKC staff will not ask for your password, recovery codes, or one-time verification code. Review your security settings and active sessions.
Location and in-person safety
Think before sharing a home address, precise routine, live location, or private event details. Meet new people in public, tell someone you trust, arrange your own transportation, and use organizer and venue details that can be independently verified. Audience controls reduce exposure but cannot prevent viewers from copying content.
What happens after a report
Safety reports are triaged by severity. Reviewers may request more information, limit content while investigating, take enforcement action, or close a report when evidence does not show a violation. Ticket and moderation updates appear through alerts or messages when available. Eligible account actions can be appealed from Settings.
Questions and accessibility
Create a support ticket for product help or accessibility accommodations. Safety questions may be sent to safety@chatkc.com; privacy questions to privacy@chatkc.com; and terms or rights questions to legal@chatkc.com. This page does not replace emergency, medical, or legal advice.
